Mother God, Mother Earth
"Mother God, Mother Earth" Acrylic, oil, and collage on canvas. 18 x 24" 2021. Brejenn Allen.
If Earth is a woman, then God is, too. Inspired by Michaelangelo's "Creation of Adam" on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. As an artist exploring myself, I like to explore opposites of pop culture moments that the world says is important. So what's the opposite of two old naked white men touching fingers? Two black women touching their acrylic ethereal acrylic nails. Mother Earth's nails are green and blue inspired by the land and water that is her body and Mother God's nails are celestial with blue, silver, and grey.
