The Data Center off I-20

In this heavily textured mixed media painting, Allen captures a data center under construction in her town. Viewers are transported to the roadside, where the vast building stretches across the bottom of the canvas. She questions what progress looks like in Mississippi and whether the uncertainty around the effects of data centers is truly worth the rewards from the "investment" these centers claim to be. Under a wide-open sky with paper embedded into the clouds, we see how a sky can make the ugliness developing beneath it seem beautiful. 

By purchasing this work, the collector agrees to make the painting available on loan for select future exhibitions, such as solo shows or museum presentations, with reasonable advance notice and at no cost to the collector. Full credit will be given to the collector in all exhibition materials.
